At Sloane Fine Tea Merchants, we believe that beauty is in the details, and we strive to make every aspect of our packaging and beautiful and intricate as the tea blends themselves. We put a lot of love and care into our tea tins, and we like to think that you might want to keep them around long after your tea is finished. In the past we’ve used empty tins as pen holders, or storage for tea accessories, but this Martha Stewart idea got us thinking- wouldn’t Sloane tins looks great filled with flowers?
A simply gorgeous way to up-cycle our packaging, tea tin flower arrangements look lovely on the table at a dinner party, on your desk at work, or anywhere you’d usually put your favourite florals. You can also bring them along to parties as a hostess gift, and whether you choose to use faux florals or the real thing they’re sure to be a great conversation piece.
Here are some tips for floral arranging in our tins:
-If you’re using real flowers, be sure to line the inside of the tin using a zip-lock bag, as they are not leak proof.
-Arrange using a mix of flowers and greenery to help create depth and fullness
-Cut flower stems down to about 3 inches to get the ideal height when arranging.
-Add a bit of sugar or flower food to the water before arranging to ensure your florals last
-Remove all leaves that may sit in the water to keep bacteria away!
